Swimmers

We are thrilled to be partnering with Tiburon Swim Academy to provide week long swim clinics to Branches campers and our community. You can sign up as part of the Branches Extended Day experience or bring your child to campus just for your sessions.

Swim clinics are five consecutive 30 minute lessons at the same time each day.

In Swimmers, your child will progress through the following levels:

Level 1 - Squids

This level is designed to get each swimmer comfortable with the water and to get over any fears and anxieties of swimming independently. At this stage swimmers will learn to become safe in the water. Each swimmer will learn to swim through the water and back float to relax and breathe when needed. We take an individual approach to each swimmer to help them learn the skills to survive.

Level 2 - Minnows

This level is designed to teach each child to swim the full length of the pool to build strength. Minnows are comfortable in the pool and can safely swim. They will begin to learn how to efficiently and safely swim on their front and back.

Level 3 - Salmon

This level is designed to build stroke development. Minnows can swim the pool but now need to refine their strokes and build more endurance. Salmon will be mastering the freestyle and backstroke and will be introduced to the butterfly and breaststroke.

Level 4 - Dolphins

This level is designed to build on the swimmer’s skills and have them develop into efficient lap swimmers in all 4 strokes. Dolphins will also add dives and turns into their skill set while mastering all 4 strokes.

Level 5 - Sharks

This level is designed to prepare swimmers for our recreational swim team. Sharks are good swimmers and will work on mastering starts and turns, building endurance, and growing in a team atmosphere.
